Starting from June 3rd, the way to book an appointment for consular services (excluding visas) will change.
To book, you must follow these steps:
1) Register an account on the Prenot@mi portal. To register an account, you will need to fill out a form with the following information. Name, Surname, Place and Date of Birth, Email, Address and Telephone Number. Once you have sent the information, you will receive a confirmation email to the email address indicated which will contain a link to confirm the activation of the account.
2) Once you have successfully completed the activation of the account, send an email to conslagos.archivio@esteri.it using the same address* used to register on Prenot@mi, indicating in the subject of the email the type of service requested among the following available:
- Legalization of Documents
- Declarations of Value (for study or other purposes)
- Consular Services for Italian Citizens**
3) Attach the following documents to the booking email:
- a) In case of legalization of documents aimed at recognizing Italian citizenship: the applicant’s identity document and a copy of the residence permit; requests for legalization of documents aimed at obtaining a visa for family reunification will not be accepted. For this latter type of document, please follow the procedure described at the following link;
- b) In the case of a request for a Declaration of Value: a copy of the diplomas obtained;
- c) In the case of consular services for Italian citizens: a copy of an identity document. Please also specify the type of service requested (e.g. transcription of a civil status document, passport, renewal of a driving license, etc.). Please note that the service does not extend to documents pertaining relatives who are not Italian citizens.
4) After sending the email, as soon as our operator has verified the requirements, the applicant will receive a confirmation by email indicating the date and time of the appointment. Please remember that confirmation is not immediate and could take up to 7 calendar days.

Please remember that the reservation is free and can be obtained simply by following the procedure described above. Please be wary of anyone who promises early appointments for a fee and we recommend that you register on the Prenot@mi website using your personal email address and not that of an agent, so that you can always personally and independently check the status of the reservation.
It is possible to delegate any person (Agents, family members, friends) to attend the appointment on your behalf, but the services will be provided only for documents in the name of the person who booked the service. Only one booking is required for each family unit. Parents can book in the name of their minor children.
*Requests coming from an address not registered on the Prenot@mi portal will not be taken into consideration.
**This service dedicated to compatriots does not include legalization of documents, declarations of value, visas, for their relatives who are not Italian citizens.
